Intimate Wedding La Virginia, Marbella

What can I say, but we love weddings and there is nothing more alarming and challenging than being sent a table seating plan for over 100 people at 1am in the night before a wedding to design, create and print read for the morning :)

But once a bride is forgiven and has since become a fabulous wedding planner and a good friend and even sent me creme eggs to win forgiveness 3 years later, you can imagine my delight when the aforementioned bestest bride recommended us to one of her family members to help them plan and decorate their gorgeous intimate wedding here in Marbella.

We were delighted when Emma Jane and Paraic hired us and loved planning and creating their special day here at the stunning La Virginia church this week followed by a wedding reception dinner at the La Virginia restaurant.

We thought we would share some of the pretty details we created for Emma Jane.
Our brief was she was wearing a vintage lace style dress and her sister who was the bridesmaid would be wearing champagne.

Combined with the stunningly beautiful setting of La Virginia we created a simple but elegant style and I incorporated a bit of colour into the menus using a bougainvillea design as the venue and its surroundings are covered in this beautifully Mediterranean flower.

The tables were dressed with tea coloured vintage Spanish lace table runners and we used the altar arrangement from the church for the dining table combined with two smaller floral arrangements and surrounded them with silver mercury tealights.

We provided blush coloured napkins tied with champagne satin ribbons to set off the table and insert the bougainvillea menus into.

The end result was beautiful and we are delighted to share these images with you from Pierre Richardson photography.

Our congratulations to Emma Jane and Paraic on such a special day.

Our congratulations as well to Claire and Jonathan as they are expecting their first child.

I was told a wedding stylist is for life recently by Chris and Faye, one of our 2011 bestest couples, as I was set the task of shopping for cots in Ikea and again it appears this applies!  Just wondering if Claire is going to email me asking for cots shortly, just hoping it will not be at 1am at night :)

If you wish to see Claire´s beautiful website and hire one of the best wedding planners in Ireland do hop over to White Sage Events.  Claire now has table seating plans down to a fine art!

Wedding Signs and Man Wedding Things in Marbella!

We have had a fabulously busy weekend creating gorgeous details for our weddings and thought we would share some of them with you albeit they are our own photos taken on our iPhones and we will of course be sharing the pros photos with you as soon as we receive them and start blogging our weddings we design and create to share ideas and inspirations with you.

This week seems to have focussed on man things, the often forgotten and neglected groom!!

Most of our grooms are thankfully modern men and are totally involved in the planning when it comes to a) the cars and b) the music and c) the bar, but usually when discussing all the decoration details, including bridal bouquets, their eyes often glaze over and within 30 minutes of most of our meetings they have managed to wander off to find a cool beer in a local bar which is conveniently situated next door to our shop!

This is when the fun starts as our brides then open up to us and we can plan all sorts of lovely surprises for their men, from groom´s cakes to personalised bar signs and cigar bars.  It does not take much to add some special details into the day and honour your man. We have even created football themed candy bars as a surprise which is really fun.

A simple groom personalised bar sign adds a cute touch and setting up a high table with a cigar bar is a really fun idea and overcomes the often asked question what do we do about favours for the men.

This idea is proving very popular as we dress our cigar bars with personalised cigar menus and various manly props including camping lanterns and a cool hat stand creating a special corner for the men of the wedding to discuss football things!

Apparently at yesterday´s wedding the styled cigar bar was a huge hit and delighted all the guests!  It is the small attention to creating little details without spending a huge sum of money that can make such a difference to a wedding.

We have been busy creating our gorgeous stationery from our Sevillian Orange stationery range to our vintage Spanish signage for our weddings and we have been having a lot of fun so we thought we would share some of our daily inspirations and weddings with you before our professional photos arrive!

Wedding Cake Designer, Sweet Things By Fi, opens her first cake boutique in Gibraltar

What can I say other than I am so proud of Fi and her latest achievement of opening her first gorgeous designer cake shop, Sweet Things By Fi, in Gibraltar.

Fi´s shop is a true reflection of her personal style and is a delightful piece of shabby chic heaven and much more importantly filled with gorgeous cakes!

So much thought and design has gone into this beautifully presented shop.

I have been privileged to have been slightly involved having been sent wallpaper samples to look at, colour swatches, kitchen tile samples and watched Fi as she transformed pieces of furniture with beautifully chosen paint colours and seen her strive through what seemed mountains of paperwork to finally open the doors to present a beautiful showroom to showcase her work and host clients.

I feel like Fi´s surrogate mother so I am bursting at the seams with pride as I have had watched Fi´s huge talents along with determination start this business from scratch to becoming one of the most talented cake designers here in Spain.  I have to mention at this point the continuing support of her fabulous hubby, Clark, who has been a mainstay in supporting Fi in her business and been an absolute rock throughout.

I fear I maybe banned from visiting her cake shop due to the fact I steal her cakes, I am sure there will be some sort of Laura alarm system in place shortly attached to every cupcake :(!

Here is wishing Fi every success and if you wish to get in contact with Fi please visit her webpage Sweet Things By Fi.

The gorgeous photos were taken by Marea Thompson of Lucky Girl Weddings and do hop over to Marea´s website too for some wonderful eye candy or to see more of Fi´s shop hop over to Marea´s blog.

Blush Colour Inspiration for City Weddings in Spain

We adore the blush colour, it is such a pretty feminine pastel shade, not quite pale pink or peach, it is what we refer to as a ballet shoe colour.

Combined with touches of gold and a hint of black or navy oozes chic, style and romance.

This colour scheme would be perfect for a smart, city style black tie wedding in one of our fabulous Spanish cities such as Barcelona or Madrid.

I am dreaming of blackberries popped into sparkling pink cava, touches of gold glitter, lots of soft floaty blush ruffles contrasting with white starched shirts and black bow ties, heavenly roses set into gold and glass containers, beautiful blush macarons presented in black and ivory chanel style boxes as favours tied with black grosgrain ribbons and plenty of romantic candle light.

I have created two inspiration boards tonight with this gorgeous wedding colour to share with you so I hope you enjoy them and they inspire you.

Reviva Weddings in Madrid

Spain is a gloriously passionate and vibrant country and home to many beautiful cities such as Barcelona, Seville, Granada and Madrid to name a famous few.

These cities are full of history, steeped in culture and historical buildings, famous tapas, and hugely popular cuisine combined with their passionate flamenco and haunting Spanish guitar, I cannot think of a more romantic country to host a gorgeous wedding!

Everyone I know who has visited Spain, unless they have visited the kiss me quick areas, I think will agree with me!

Spain´s unique history and traditions evoke drama and a very theatrical setting for any visit or event, particularly a romantic wedding and you cannot help but get swept up in this wonderful country´s charm, passion and romance and of course love their culture, partying, fiestas and food!

There are many different aspects to Spain I adore as I travel around this country.
I attend many weddings and events and as I drive through spectacular fields full of sunflowers and orchards dripping with white almond blossoms , stunning mountain scenery and super chic urban cities, I am so grateful I live here as it is such a beautiful place to be.

We enjoy many diverse cultures, from our coastlines full of delighted tourists seeking sun drenched beaches and enjoying the famous chiringuitos and clubs in Marbella to the chilled out beaches of the windsurfing capital, Tarifa.

Then we have the rather refined and beautiful inland rustic haciendas and cortijos dotted all around inland Spain that exude charm, history and tranquility combined with luxury and are wonderful places to stay and host your wedding or event.

Hop into the cities of Spain and we are shouting urban chic, beautiful historic buildings and palaces, wonderful plazas with fountains, luxury hotels and an amazing range of Spanish culture and cuisine.

Our Mediterranean weather here does not play an overall importance, in fact if you have stylish brollie to hand then so much better!

You are not relying on the sun to shine on your day with a city wedding and having hosted many weddings here in the south of Spain this plays such a key role that sometimes it can be disappointing.

We know all our clients want Spanish sunshine but organising a wedding in Spain is such a fabulous occasion if you host a city wedding and not relying on the weather you are onto a winner all ways.

Spain is a country that has so much to offer visitors and there is a wide range of fabulous weddings and events you can host here in Spain.

We are delighted now to launch Reviva Madrid, creating gorgeous weddings in Spain´s capital city and surrounding areas including Toledo.

These wonderful images we have shared with you of Madrid are from Tul y Flores taken by Emm Photography

If you wish to host your wedding here in Spain and wish to engage with a professional and passionate team to help you plan and design your wedding here in Spain please do contact us on info@reviva-weddings.com

A Spanish Flag Wedding Colour Inspiration, Passionate Reds and Marigold Yellows

Tonight I have been playing around with the colours of the Spanish flag using the deep passionate reds combined with the sunny marigold hues and designing ideas on how to translate this colour combo into a wedding as it is really quite a harsh colour scheme but executed properly would be fabulous and we love doing fabulous!

Spain is so evocative of these colours, from their red and yellow flag to the colours of the famous sangria all provides a wonderful Spanish colour scheme to use as a base for your wedding or party.

There are so many fun elements drawn from the Spanish culture that we have incorporated into our previous wedding designs, from the use of the black Osborne bull as a vehicle to create place cards and table seating plans to Spanish lace fans and Sevillian oranges and sunflowers, really the list is endless which is rather exciting as I am constantly drawing on Spanish culture to translate into ideas for our weddings and am spoilt for choice.

Reviva Weddings have not only absorbed the Spanish culture into our weddings but have also now expanded across Spain.

We will be announcing our exciting news this week as we pop up officially in all the major cities around Spain including Barcelona, Madrid and Seville.
