Sporrans and Noodles Wedding on the Marbella Lakes

Chris and Sam contacted us to help them organise their wedding in Spain as we had previously organised their best friends, Katy and Scott's wedding in 2010 and came recommended.

We were delighted to meet Katy and Scott again complete with firstly a bump at the beginning of the planning, then later a beautiful little boy! It was so lovely to also meet the now doting grandparents again too and with Katy and Scott as best man and bridesmaid, they were of course on duty for the night!

What a lot of fun Chris and Sam were, they instantly fell in love with the villa set on the lakes in Marbella and loved the fact it was private as music was to play a big part of their wedding and partying outside all night was a must for the club lovers!

Having settled quickly on the venue we started planning what I call the sporran noodle wedding, we wanted to combine both the Scottish for Chris with the Chinese for Sam and the overall theme was of course music.

The catering by Chez Vous combined various different elements of both traditions of food, serving a mix of oriental and Scottish canapes and finishing off the evening with boxes of noodles for midnight snacks.

The decoration and stationery was created with a lot of input from Chris and Sam, using vinyl records as table centrepieces, and Chris had even ordered vinyl record cake stands, which took quite a few of us putting heads together to get them assembled and to stand upright!

Chris organised the favours to bring in the music theme with musical note placecard holders and stubby holders for beers.

The tables were simply decorated with purple and orange flowers in glassware, surrounded by some retro coloured tealight holders we found in Casa with Chris and Sam on a shopping trip.

We finished off the decor with lots of lanterns and candles, hung hearts supplied by Sam from the trees and created the table seating plan, again using the record theme and the tables named after famous nightclubs.

The golden wheelbarrow made it's appearance filled with ice and bottled beers!

Our thanks to all the wonderful suppliers who were part of Sam and Chris's special day here in Marbella, Kathryn Parr for Hair and Make Up, Julia at Chez Vous for the catering, Monkey Tennis for the entertainment and of course David Toms for the fabulous photographs.

A huge congratulations to Chris and Sam who were such fun to work with and looking forward to meeting with you all next time you are in Marbella!

Classical Violinist Naiara Castillejo

Naiara is one of my lovely friends I met a long time ago when I first started my company and we have remained firm friends ever since, she is a truly inspirational and passionate person who loves her work and lives life to the full.
Naiara is the most amazing violinist and performs all over the world at classical concerts and we are honoured to have her here, based in Malaga, to offer her stunning musical talent for weddings with her beautiful violin playing that just brings out the goosebumps every time.
You cannot help but feel the excitement and emotion as Naiara starts to play at a wedding ceremony, it is music that relaxes and eases the tension as the big day starts, it is truly amazing and one of my favourites everytime for a wedding with this divine romantic music drifting through the church or ceremony area.
Naiara has her music company based here in Malaga called Festibodas offering a range of classical music options for your wedding and it is well worth taking a trip over to hear her music. Naiara also speaks perfect English so if you are looking for something truly beautiful for your ceremony do get in touch it will be worth it just to hear her play.

Elegant Whites at La Quinta Golf & Country Club, Marbella

This week we did a lovely wedding at the La Quinta Golf & Country Club, it was the first wedding we have done here and it is such a beautiful, elegant setting.
Although it was hot outside and the welcome cocktail was set up on the terrace I can imagine, not just in the summer, but for a winter wedding in Marbella this would be a perfect venue.

We created these fabulous martini arrangements (without the fear they would blow over!) which complimented the elegant surroundings and managed to stop by for a quick cocktail on the terrace only to be serenaded by the extremely talented Matt McGurk on his flamenco guitar, wonderful :)
In fact I have had the pleasure of hearing Matt twice this week as we were at a wedding together two days earlier in Mijas!
Many more weddings to post and many more photographers to nag:) David you are one of them!
Lots of weddings coming up now in September, then our Costa Del Sol Bride of the Year wedding in October so please do check back to see all our weddings here in the south of Spain.
