Wedding Trends for 2013 Gorgeous Paper Lanterns

Here at Reviva Weddings we are well known for our romantic, magical and twinkly settings for our fabulous Mediterranean weddings and parties.  If it twinkles we love it!

As one of the trendsetters here in Spain for creating sparkly, twinkly evenings, we are always looking for new ideas and beautiful products to create charming magical evenings once our gloriously hot sunshine disappears and the Mamma Mia style nights descend!

We are, therefore, delighted to be stocking these gorgeous hand cut paper lanterns in a Moroccan or Vintage floral design for our 2013 weddings.

These lanterns are magical in the evening when lit and such beautiful decorations during the day suspended from trees or placed around key features such as walls, special tables and candy bars.

A range of colours and sizes can be ordered, even super cute tiny ones, perfect for adding a delightful favour box to your place settings.  We also offer beautifully hand cut circular menus to compliment these gorgeous paper lanterns.

If you would like to order these delightful paper lanterns for your wedding or party and would like more information please do contact us info@reviva-weddings.com, we will also be stocking a range of these new lanterns in our shop here in Marbella.

Please do note these designs are copyrighted by our fabulous paper designer and cannot be reproduced.

Eco Friendly Rice Butterfly Confetti

Traditionally rice is thrown at the bride and groom to bring them fertility and good luck and the word confetti comes from the Italians who traditionally threw sweets at the lucky couple, confetto.

All this, however, sounds painful and as we are always searching for eco friendly alternatives to our weddings, we were delighted to find this new product, rice butterflies which we will now be stocking in our shop.

These gorgeous butterflies are currently available in white, red, yellow, green and blue but shortly will be available in pink.  As they are so lightweight they stay in the air for longer ensuring your photographer will capture the magic and give your photos the wow factor.

We love them and with all the symbolic meanings behind throwing rice at the happy couple, we cannot think of a better way to start your married life than to be blessed by fluttering butterflies!

New website and cool new photo booth from Jeremy Standley

We are loving Jeremy Standley's new look website, it is clear and very user friendly and just fab to be honest, although I am sure there has been sweat, blood and tears long the way as the rebranding was taking place but well worth the finished result.

Being in the creative industry means a constant change, developing a strong brand image that you can live with is never easy as we are always changing our minds (I am a Libran as well which is a double whammy!) so I am personally impressed with this very well thought out, clear and dynamic website.

Even more excitement and we are soooo looking forward to a demo, is Jeremy's new photo booth, we cannot wait to have a go and really must blog the photos when the A team get in it, I can imagine us all jostling for space ;)

Knowing Jeremy as well as I do now, a lot of thought has gone into getting the right product and this new photo booth sounds amazing and great fun for weddings. High quality images (of course knowing Jeremy) online and on Facebook within 48 hours, a neat and attractive set up and no electricity needed (always a good thing in Spain!)

We are all getting geared up now for our wedding season and with all these new products and my cutting of the jelly wedding we really are very excited!

Forget the cupcakes and Macaroons! Here come the Jellies!

I have always loved the simplicity of jelly and have been an avid fan of this gorgeous wobbly stuff since I was tiny so you can imagine my delight when I read about Bombas and Parr and I love the quirky jellies created by these culinary whizzkids.
They are bringing the light hearted touch of kids nostalgia to the grown up world and these jelly towers made with these gorgeously coloured jellies in all shapes and sizes are just such a new and fun idea.
These jellies are served in mind boggling flavours such as lemonade, strawberry and raspberry and blackcurrant and berries, how refreshing for a hot summer wedding served with some ice-cream. More exotic flavours include Prosecco and Gold, Glow in the Dark, Flaming and Striped Clementine, I wish I had known about these when we were creating our fire and ice party last year, they would have been the WOW factor for the night!
I do think we are going to see some very creative ideas this year as retro jellies join balloons in making a comeback to weddings!
I have no doubt all the hotels and caterers here are now beginning to dread my next foodie idea blogposts, sorry guys! :)

Two New Stunning Beach Villas for Weddings in Marbella

Villa at Los Monteros
Yesterday we had an extremely busy day with lots of meetings and visits to new wedding venues here in Marbella and we are hugely excited to share with you our new properties available for your wedding here in southern Spain. We had a very productive day and there is more to come on the next blog post about weddings in Benahavis as well :)
We went out for the day, yesterday, to visit these new venues with the vision that these could be potential wedding venues for our clients and what really excited me with these two new stunning properties is that they are located right on the beach.
We get so many enquiries for beach style weddings, that up until now we could not really accommodate as the venues were not available or were hotels situated on the beach which is not the same when you wish to create your very personal day.
However, with the recession and property owners now looking at other revenue streams, we are delighted that they are contacting us and putting their trust in us to showcase these amazing properties and making them available for weddings and events. There is a silver cloud to every lining!
Stunning is a word that can only describe both of the properties I visited yesterday and what I loved was the fact you could hear the waves, one of my favorite past times is to sit on the beach listening to the waves, there is nothing more magical :) I could think of nothing more romantic than getting married by the beach but perhaps I am biased! I am known for heading to the beach in the summer even if it is for an hour to sit and listen to the waves and people watch :)
Both the properties we viewed yesterday are now on our books as wedding venues and the first property is situated in the Los Monteros area, east of Marbella. It is ideally located near the Los Monteros hotel, the Vincci hotel and the Don Carlos hotel and is available on a daily rental basis meaning you do not have to commit for a minimum amount of days.
The second property below is situated in the Guadalmina side of town, near Puerto Banus and next door practically to the Guadalmina hotel, again right on the beach. Again you do not have to commit to a certain amount of days. It is set in fabulous grounds with an orange grove to host a cocktail in and then leading through the property to the 'back garden' with the pool and stunning gardens.
Both properties are stunning locations and sleep 10 people and we work with excellent caterers and a whole host of suppliers that can move into the properties to create your dream day, including us of course :)
If you would like more information about either properties please do just send us an email for more information on laura@reviva-weddings.com or call me on 0034 618021172.

Villa at Guadalmina

All these photos were taken by us yesterday in January without the help of a professional photographer so if they look good here they will be even more stunning if done professionally in the summer!

Fruit and Veggie Bar

Whilst a wedding is full of decadence and chocolate, I love this idea for perhaps a slightly different and healthier version of the canapes served with the cocktails, to set up a fruit and veggie bar instead.

How different is this and I think it is a wonderful idea.

Imagine this set up at your wedding complete with a signature cocktail, fabulous!

Instead of the 'what shall we give the guests that do not want to drink' you could offer refreshing healthy smoothies, little bite size pieces of watermelon topped with a walnut and sour cream mixture, mozzarela and tomato eggcups, lovely dips with carrots and celery and what we call here in Spain Picos (breadsticks).

My favorite combination of any foods are the cheese and fruit elements which would work well here, Stilton and Pears, Apples and Cheddar for example.  I am sure my sister could come up with many food combinations and ideas of this sort of canape table.

I was chatting online with Fi, our fabulous and hugely stylish cake designer, who of course as always immediately throws me fab things to distract me from my tasks so ended up wandering around the Amy Atlas blog and stumbled upon this idea.

Fi is also studying business law and about to complete her final exams, so her and I were of course busy studying hard and not looking at wedding websites :)!  We both now know how to create cupcake garlands, and design veggie bars!  Perhaps Sweet Things By Fi should be renamed to Sweet and Sour Things By Fi :)

To all the caterers we work with take note, I think this is a fabulous idea and certainly a new and novel one, I just need to make sure I can get hold of some sprouts and artichokes as we are soooo seasonal here in Spain but we can work on this :)!
