A Sneak Peek of our Gorgeous Private Villa Wedding in Marbella

What a wonderful whirlwind of weddings May and June has been, with a pretty wet start to our wedding season thankfully it soon warmed up to the Mediterranean temperatures we know and love!

I cannot believe we are now into July, goodness knows where the past two months have gone, and we are now eagerly awaiting photos of our weddings we have worked so hard on in the past few months to share with you.

Can you imagine our delight when we received these sneak peek images of some of our decoration from our wedding last weekend at a private villa in Marbella.

We adore this wedding and cannot wait to share the rest of it with you.

From the pre-wedding cocktail party at the fabulous Gran Gatsby overlooking the Puerto Banus to the stunning details of such a fabulous wedding day in a private villa in Marbella, followed by a very cool tropical themed pool party with an cute icecream station and giant inflatable pineapples and flamingos!  I was in heaven despite spending hours blowing up inflatables!!

Thank you to Agata Jensen for sending us a few treats this week of our work and looking forward to seeing more images of such a fabulous weekend designed and produced by Reviva Weddings and thank you to my amazing team for your devotion and humour during a very busy time!

Botanical Style, Easter Inspiration

I have many blogs and websites I adore and this time of year I relish in actually having the time to study, read and pore over these delightful inspirations.

The Brand Stylist is one of them, I love her simple style and attention to details and would love to attend one of her courses as they seem so well thought through and put together.

As the Botanical style is hugely popular I thought I would share some of the images from this gorgeous website as there is a whole host of lovely Easter floral inspiration which conveys the botanical style that is creeping into wedding and event styling for 2016.

Combinations of the new style copper wire lights, simple glass geometric shapes and the eclectic mix of urban meets nature is a brilliant way of decorating and styling your wedding.

Think brickwork, wooden tables, ferns, in season plants, living twigs and leaves, less florals and more focus placed on glass, structures and simple textures.

As wedding stylists we love these ideas, one of my favourite looks for our Spanish weddings is a simple white napkin adorned with an olive sprig, it encompasses everything Spanish, such a clean statement when your guests arrive at their tables and so simple it is utterly charming.

As detailed focused stylists, our role in your wedding is to design the visual aspects of your wedding, by putting together your personal tastes and our distinct eye for beauty.

Our approach is to inspire, excite and guide you along the way so you enjoy planning your wedding. From arranging the composition of your table settings to dreaming up beautiful displays for your favours, our aim is to create lasting memories you and your guests remember for years to come.

We specialise in handmade, sourced and collected unique detailing and dedicate ourselves to your wedding as if it were our own.

I hope you enjoy this Easter inspiration as much as we do.

Wedding day photography, it's all in the details!

We are often asked if our couples should be thinking about anything else as they lead up to their wedding day and after months and months of planning our advice is really quite simple.... get it photographed!

Many hours have been spent choosing the gorgeous details ready for your special day, there has been a lot of thought, time and effort put into this, you are paying for a photographer for your day so make the most of it, they are there and love photographing your details.

When you look back at your photos 20 years later these details will be the ones that will tell your story over and over again of those personal touches you chose to make your day so special.

Think about how you will present things, perhaps bring some extra accessories with you to help style your photos.

Here at Reviva we have a pre getting ready photo props box, it includes a pretty vintage mirror, a Spanish fan, sometimes we can make sure there are a few extra flowers ready for the photographs and all it needs is a bit of thought and attention.

We are sharing our pre wedding photo checklist to make sure you get everything photographed at your getting ready location that you can look back on with wonderful memories of all the details you had for your wedding day.

Cake Trend, Drip Cakes, Love them!

This week I was alerted to the latest cake trend by Sweet Things by Fi.

I had seen a few of this style drip cake starting to pop up on my feeds, one in particular was from the Crumby Bakery based in Godalming, Surrey who shared a rather impressive photo of their drip cakes.

It was beginning to sink in that this was fast becoming the latest trend but nothing confirms it better than our fabulous Fi sending me images of gorgeous cakes in exactly this style and asking me my thoughts.

Now, anyone that knows me understands I am a complete sucker for scoffing cakes, really not fussy what they look like, give me chocolate, vanilla, lemon, every cake is totally welcome but these new style drip cakes are really to die for and absolutely love the rather decadent toppings that are seemingly and effortlessly thrown on the top, which of course we know they are not, they would have been painstakingly designed and put together.

The toppings are just divine and it seems can be anything, from a beautiful display combining fresh fruits, mini macarons and meringues, adding in flowers, chocolate drops, etc, it is really up to the creativeness of each cake maker.

Forget the naked cakes, decadent drip cakes are the big trend this year and we cannot wait to see more designs and creativity as this trend takes the cake world by storm and I cannot wait to eat them!

Best Tapas Party Food

Today I read a lovely article about Easy Spanish Recipes for a Tapas party via Costa Women so I thought it would be a nice idea to create our own blog post and share some of the most popular Spanish tapas dishes often served at our events and weddings as ideas ready for the festive season.
Many of us are hosting parties, small get togethers with family and friends and nothing is easier than serving small dishes of tasty treats of which many can easily be prepared in advance.
Salted almonds and marinated olives are always a good starter, washed down with a glass of dry sherry or cava.
Gazpacho and white almond and garlic soup are always really pretty served in shot glasses and garnished with cherry tomatoes and some crispy fried pancetta.
Croquetas are a firm favourite, jamon, chicken or cheese are always popular choices and the kids always love them.
Slices of manchego cheese topped with membrillo are delicious or be more adventurous and top a crostini with manchego cheese and some slices of apple or figs.
A must have for all Spanish tapas parties is the famous Spanish tortilla, a thick omelette of potato, no Spanish party is complete without this!  Why not top each cube with a pimiento piquillo to add a bit of colour and sweetness of the red pepper.
Pimientos del Padron are small sweet green peppers often fried and then sprinkled with sea salt, again a popular Spanish tapas dish.
The famous Spanish chorizo is a must have, just sliced and fried is truly delicious and if you are feeling slightly more ambitious prawns always work really well with slices of the fried chorizo skewered onto cocktail sticks.
Gambas pil pil, prawns fried with garlic and chilli in olive oil, is also a popular choice, serve in small terracotta dishes and make sure there is some freshly baked sliced bread to soak up the oil.
Figs play a huge role in the Spanish kitchen as they literally fall off trees here so grab some fresh figs, split them open and fill with goats cheese, pop under the grill and you have a delicious tapas that not only will look fabulous but tastes divine.
Albondigas are a cute small, usually pork, meatballs cooked in tomato and olive oil, again a lovely idea for tapas and easily served with cocktail sticks.
Mojama is a Spanish delight, a salt cured tuna which is served thinly sliced and delicious on a crostini topped with a tomato and onion homemade salsa.
Melon con jamon is a refreshing and light snack, chop up cubes of melon and present them on cocktail sticks with slices of Spanish serrano ham on top and patatas bravas are always popular with the hungrier guests, cubed roasted potatoes topped with a spicy tomato sauce.
Pinchitos are the Spanish kebabs, usually either chicken or pork on skewers and seasoned with garlic, cumin, thyme and olive oil and grilled or placed on the BBQ.
Finally for some sweet ideas, the classic flan, creme caramel, is always a tradition here in Spain along of course with our famous churros and chocolate, never fails to please!  Turron is a classic Spanish sweet and comes in many different varieties and is delightful served up at a tapas party
A Spanish tapas party is so easy to prepare as most of it can be done in advance and of course copious amounts of sangria will always get your guests into a party mood!
