A Secret Garden Wedding Inspiration

As a young girl my magical world was provided by reading books and I was transported by my imagination into different worlds. I loved books and the wonderful places they would take me to that filled my dreams as I slept.   

Sometimes I wonder if it is this that made me want to create magical spaces as I became an adult.

Enid Blyton´s Faraway Tree,The Wishing Chair, My Family and Other Animals by Gerald Durrell and the Famous Five are all some of many books I was fortunate enough to read as a small child and absolutely loved and I am so lucky my mother encouraged our reading of these enchanting stories.  

One of my favourite novels was The Secret Garden by Frances Hogdson Burnett, I so loved the mysterious wonder of this book and what the Secret Garden held within it´s walls as it was unlocked and discovered.

A Secret Garden wedding for me having read this book would be difficult to achieve with everything my imagination conjures up but I adore this photo shoot created by Hannah Gooch and Sarah Gawler featured on Love My Dress, it has that lovely mysterious quality about it that is so evocative of how I imagine a Secret Garden wedding.

I love the combination of nature and the glamour of the dress.  The styling details are beautifully done so I had to share this gorgeous and magical secret garden inspiration with you :)  If you have any beautiful childhood memories you would like to incorporate into your wedding day, we would love to hear about them.

Sequins and Glitter for Weddings in Spain

As our quest for all that glitters and sparkles grows, you can imagine our delight at finding this gorgeous photo shoot on Ruffled :)

I had to share this wonderfully twinkly inspiration with you, from the delightful silver glitter cake to the slightly sparkly heart shaped cookies plus of course the sequin table covers and divine pastel floral arrangements.  I squeaked and went to to heaven and back!

I have loved sequins eversince I was a child, my obsession with anything that glitters has become bigger as I got bigger!  Throw in some glitter, better if it is edible, and I am in heaven!

Glamour and Sparkle Wedding Inspiration

Who does not love a bit of glamour and sparkle, thrown in with a few diamonds of course!

 

We are busy here working away on ideas and inspirations for our 2013 weddings and gradually compiling mood and colour boards for our clients.

 

This involves weeks of looking for that one inspiration to set the next train of thought off and scanning hundreds or actually probably thousands of images as we put together designs and ideas.

 

My problem at the moment as we lead into the festive season is I keep being distracted by glitter and diamonds ;)

 

One fabulous blog I have found is Zsa Zsa Bellagio, if you are in need of some stylish inspirations or just wish to spend an hour looking at glamorous images this is the place to head over too.  Be prewarned you could be on this blog for much longer than an hour :)!

Sparkling Christmas Beauty Tips from Nikki

December has finally arrived and we are all set to sparkle and shimmy through Christmas.  With parties and glitter on our minds we are delighted to share some fabulous make up and beauty tips from our make up expert Niki at Marbella MakeUp to ensure we are all glittering for the festive season!

Add a hair accessory for instant glamour opt for diamante clips and combs which are easy to grip into the hair.

Apply a touch of glitter or shimmery lipgloss. This can be worn alone or apply over the top of your favourite lipstick.

 

For gorgeous glowing skin this winter apply a highlighter.  I prefer crèmes rather than powders which can appear heavy.  Apply using fingertips to blend gently under the arch of the brow bone and down onto the top of the cheekbones. I love Benefit Highbeam and Moonbeam as well as MAC's strobe cream.

For glitzy nails choose a glitter nail polish, this can be clear and worn alone over a bare nail or on top of your favourite colour.  Choose the latest craze 3D nails! Nazila's nail glitz will embellish your fingertips with beautiful jewels.

Apply a shimmering body lotion or oil for gleaming radiant skin.  I love Nuxeshimmer oil this hydrates skin and leaves a gorgeous golden sheen.

If you are all about the eyes apply a line of glitter gel eyeliner along the lashline or add a touch of glitter on top of your eyeshadow.  If you like to experiment with colour use a shimmering bright eyeshadow or pigment to create dramatic eyes.

 

Accessorise your eye makeup by added a set of sparkly false lashes.  If you are not quite that daring try applying a few individual cluster lashes or a set of corner lashes for a more subtle glamorous effect.  Apply using DUOadhesive available at MAC for long lasting wear.

 

Create a metallic silver smoky eye.  Apply a kohl pencil around the eye smudging and blending well using a small firm brush.  I like to use MAC's 219 brush for this.  Apply a little black or dark grey shadow on top to set the liner and intensify the colour. Next apply silver over the lid up to the socket blending well.

Christmas Sparkle!

Today is our Christmas party!

With some of the Reviva Chicks heading off in the next few weeks to other climates, the season of glitter and fairy lights has started early :)

Secret Santa is ready and we have a few little treats in store for our fab guests!

For me it brings many lovely memories and I was delighted to find these fabulous glittery photos to share with you in Pinterest.

I am thinking tonight though with the beautiful sunlight we get here in Spain some glitter would not go amiss in our weddings next year, a bit of twinkle is always pretty and not necessarily reserved for Christmas so my brain is ticking away!

I have also earnt the lovely title of the Fairy Godmother of the Costa Del Sol, so perhaps some waving of the glitter wand might be forthcoming, but for now I will share these gorgeous photos with you and I will get back to my pumpkins, which you never know may even turn into carriages! :)
