Christmas Table Inspirations

A lazy Sunday morning spent surfing creative blogs has again bought me to so many hugely talented and creative people, who like me, love designing spaces, details and decorating.
This morning I was looking for festive inspiration and also midsummer night themes for weddings and I stumbled upon Hostess with the Mostess and found this lovely clean and fresh table setting using flashes of reds, white twigs and succulent plants. I particuarly loved the 'chandelier' using bleached branches and hanging lapiz shells, a lovely idea for a beach wedding as well.
Another idea we use is to wrap the containers with diamante, normally we buy cheap cosutme jewellery bracelets from a warehouse here in Malaga and use them to wrap around glassware and another fabulous idea which is also beautiful for table decoration is to use them as napkin rings, you can never beat a bit of glitter and sparkle at anytime of year, but at Christmas the more the merrier!

Fuschia Bouganvilla Wedding at Las Islas

What fun we had creating this wedding for Dennis and Ruth. It certainly helped that they had chosen such a fabulous venue, a boutique hotel & restaurant, Las Islas, run by Omar who could not have been more welcoming.

A rare find and such a thrill to have discovered such a charming venue, hidden in Torreblanca. I will certainly be putting this on my regular restaurant list now, the food was amazing.

Ruth and I decided on a Bouganvilla theme and use the local flowers to decorate her wedding. We used pink bouganvilla for the centrepieces set in crystal water pearls and lit up with pink floraltyes.

Swarovski pink table diamonds, pink napkins tied with white ribbons and a personalised olive oil bottle completed the table settings.

We ordered monogrammed cards from Reviva Weddings online shop and had them individually written with the guests names. We supplied fans decorated with pink ribbons and hung the table seating plans in the tree by the bar. The ceremony was beautifully conducted by Andrew Hunter and Dennis and Ruth used one of our unity sand sets they had ordered from our shop and had personalised with their names and wedding date.

The evening was finished off with some of Reviva Weddings sky lanterns, a truly magical end to a truly magical day.

Winter Wonderland themes

Although we are only just out of a very hot August I am now working on some Christmas themes for a client in Ireland who is organising a white week event, so having decided to visit the land of ice, snow and crystals I came across these fabulous designs from the designer Tord Boontje, who ironically designed the fabulous lights I love in Habitat. His website is well worth a visit for anyone who is interested in hugely creative fabulous designs http://www.tordboontje.com/

When I have designed the white Christmas theme and finished it I will post it!

Saudi Royal Family Party Al Riyad Palace Marbella August 2008

Our most prestigious event of this year was to design and decorate a family party for the Saudi Royal family at the Al Riyad Palace here in Marbella. We were commissioned by Puente Romano to provide the decorations for this event as they were supplying the catering which was amazing
I had a few sleepless nights and have never rushed around so much to get this party ready in time.
The theme for this party was a peppermint green colour and we used lots of crystal candles, crystals, swarovski table crystals couried in by USP on an overnight delivery!
Cream Moroccan lamps, lanterns, organza table cloths in peppermint and whites and it was certainly the night of candles and lanterns I have never seen so many
The princess was charming when she came down to see us and check over the progress, she changed a few things and instantly the party was a much more pared down low key family event and her taste was perfect and the result was beautiful.
It was an amazing day and such a fabulous venue to work at, the palace is exquisitely decorated, unfortunately it has made my little townhouse here in Marbella look rather drab!
I am hoping I might get some better images, if I do I will post some more as these photos do not really do justice to the setting and the grand scale of the event.
