Tropical coloured wedding at Guadalmina

What a huge amount of fun we had creating this fabulous brightly coloured wedding for Elaine & Kieran at Guadalmina in July, organised by Kerry at Celebrations in Spain.
Elaine contacted us last year with her vision of how she and Kieran wanted their day, it soon became apparent that this was to be a fun and vibrant wedding, so we were on a roll! Not just with the decoration but I popped back later whilst the wedding was in full swing and the entertainment was amazing.
I have to say having looked at the photos that the flower girl is truly the cutest :)
There was so many lovely details from the brightly coloured bouquets created by Olivia, our zingy lime chair sashes dressed with pink gerberas. Tall, tropical centrepieces we created with oranges and limes really gave the room at the Guadalmina a wow factor.
There was no stone left unturned as we created and designed everything to pull this day together from the fans, confetti cones, table seating plans, brightly coloured lanterns, the fabulous candy bar with our miniature windmills and jars of love hearts, that I believe are still stashed in Jeremy's house :), the fuchsia favor boxes with personalised butterfly stickers, the list is endless!
Wonderful cupcakes by Bibi Glace and of course, yet again, our huge thanks to Jeremy and Jenny for such fabulous photos of such a wonderfully happy day.
Think my nagging is paying off now, but I have unfortunately been given the nickname of PITA, pain in the arse?! Thanks Jeremy :)!

Olive Green Wedding at La Finca de Cortesin

The wedding that nearly did not happen.
Liv and Chris were one of the wedding casualty's from the sad closure of Los Monteros. Liv was almost at the verge of throwing the towel in but with many supportive emails from us and a quick weekend visit she found the fabulous Finca de Cortesin, the most beautiful venue.
All was quickly rearranged and with the support of Alicia at the Finca and Carla, our new team member, being so wonderfully organised, and providing a first class wedding
co-ordination, ensured a smooth running and perfect day.
A beautiful colour scheme of olive and white, simply decorated with cala lilies and olive sashes, many candles, lanterns bags and lanterns around the pool created a stunning setting.

Liv and Chris had their own photographer, so again much nagging when they return back from their honeymoon for some more photos rather than our snapshots!

Lime green and white daisies in Marbella

As our wedding season is well and truly underway, we will keep posting our weddings we have designed and created.
Here is a fabulous wedding we did in June, in a private villa in Marbella using a daisy theme with lime green and whites. It started early so was rather hot, but the guests soon recovered once the bar was opened!
We loved our chill out zone with our Bali umbrellas and Natalie was such a creative bride to work with, hiring in haystacks, making her own table cards which we hung from trees, and the fabulous keyrings made by her family as favours for her guests.
There were lots of lovely details and touches to make this wedding extra special, from our heart shaped chalk board hanging on the gate, which reminds me, it must still be there! daisy bubbles and our birdcage wishing well.
This wedding came to life though, at night, as it was the garden of lanterns and candles later, truly magical.
Jeremy came back to do some more photos in the dark so will continue to be the bane of his life and nag him for some more night shots, in the meantime check out Jeremy's beautiful slide show of this wonderful wedding and thank you Jeremy for recording our work with such wonderful images.

Mamma Mia Inspired Greek Wedding

Whilst on the subject of theming weddings based on wonderful films, my thoughts turned to the wonderful Mamma Mia film with the beautiful wedding. I have to admit I am addicted the film and have watched 3 nights in a row recently! I have put together this inspiration board based on a romantic greek wedding. I think there will be more as there are no butterflies on this one!

Spanish style table setting

I am in love with this table setting found on the fabulous Once Wed blog, it has been created by Courtney at Flush Designs, it has a wonderfully rustic spanish feel to it, the jug of sangria certainly helps! Loads more images on Once Wed and Flush Designs. Notice the bird theme has cropped up again definitely a trend for 2009.

Lovebird Theme for Weddings

One of the Brides to be that contacted me recently is having a love bird theme for her wedding. Her dress sounds amazing with love birds on the bodice. This prompted me to start researching this theme. Having seen the bird cage trend arrive for 2007 weddings along with the love of all things vintage I predict the love bird theme will be a big trend this year, so as I research this theme for creative ideas I will post them as I find them!
I found this fabulous wedding on the delightful Snippet and Ink blog, one of my favourite blogs that I don't know what I would do without. Kathryn never ceases to amaze me with her beautiful inspiration boards so beautifully put together.
Here they have used the lovebird theme with a strong yellow and purple colour scheme and the attention to details is wonderful - the little nests, that amazing wedding cake and those delightful little birds.

2009 wedding trends

As 2009 starts this year's weddings will still be extremely vintage, even moreso than last year and brides will be looking for more unusual, quirky ideas for their wedding decorations using vintage style containers to house natural, local flowers, much more natural and laid back, tea party style and of course using loads of beautiful but simple tealights in glass jars hanging in abundance creating that wonderful romantic and mediterranean ambience.
