Our Best Ever Dressed Groom´s Tips!

We are currently working on our favourite weddings in 2012 to post, but in the meantime we are heading back to a gorgeous wedding we created in 2011 for Chris and Faye at the Finca de la Concepcion in Marbella.

It seems that Chris is still taking the coveted title of best dressed groom and told me today he will hang onto this well earned title for his twilight years!

So many of our clients that read my blog are still asking me where Chris got his super stylish suit from :)

I am sure I am now beginning to annoy Chris by constantly emailing him to ask him, so this time I have decided to publish his style file on our blog in order I never have to bother him again!

Chris and Faye have remained friends since their wedding here and we have been delighted to have met them for coffee whilst Faye was pregnant with little Harrison and now joyfully watch updates on Facebook and Instagram of their gorgeous little boy growing up!  We are hoping to meet the latest addition to this wonderful family, in the flesh, very soon :)

In the meantime let´s share with you Chris´s Coolest Groom Award Attire!

Chris´s lightweight blue/grey suit was off the peg from Reiss

Chris´s waistcoat, tie and pocket square were custom made.

I think the dark sunglasses also did the trick to win our coolest groom award!

We hope this helps share some of our previous bride and groom tips with you.

We will be back shortly with a gorgeous New Year´s Eve inspiration and our highlights of 2012 weddings.

Private Villas for Weddings in Spain, Quinta Las Colinas

Earlier this year I was invited to meet with Niki and James at a villa called Quinta Las Colinas that they had hired for their wedding here in July.  As I wound my way up the picturesque Istan Road from Marbella, I kept wanting to pull over to admire the views over the lakes but I was booked for a meeting and did not have time to stop.

As I turned into the track down to the villa and wound my way towards the lake I could see what I hoped might be the villa at the bottom, it looked amazing.  When I arrived there I was shown into the villa through some delightful old wooden doors and immediately fell in love with it´s pretty Andalucian inner courtyard.  I love properties with inner courtyards so was immediately sold!

I was then led out to the back garden, having wanted to stop on the way up to admire the views over the lakes, I was rewarded as soon as I stepped outside into the gardens to be greeted with the most stunning views over the majestic, sparkling lakes, a truly breathtaking location.

I was hired by Niki and James to help them create their wedding decor and have to say it was such fun styling their wedding day as it just such a breathtaking place to work in, I kept stopping to admire the views all day!  Niki and James had a fantastic wedding day that partied well into the night.

Fiestasol provided the delicious catering and wedding furniture, David Toms captured this wedding, we must get the proper photos to show you, Lizzie Marriage performed a beautiful ceremony, Sweet Things By Fi created a stunning wedding cake and Tristan Harper had the wedding party on their feet, dancing the night away under the stars!

We are thrilled that Quinta Las Colinas are now offering this gorgeous villa in such a stunning location as a wedding venue and in order to promote it they have become our newest shiny sponsor and we are thrilled to welcome them on board.

So let me give you some information.  Quinta Las Colinas is located just up the Istan Road from Marbella at Km 9, about a 10 to 15 minute drive away from Marbella and Puerto Banus and also only minutes away from the white washed village of Istan nestled in the mountains above Marbella so you can enjoy the best of both worlds from the nightlife on the coast to a tranquil tapas in the mountains.

Quinta Las Colinas is finished to a very high standard and offers extremely comfortable, luxurious accommodation including a delightful open plan lounge and dining area furnished with cosy leather sofas, a stunning wood burning stove, an inner Andalucian style patio area, and a built in bar that is perfect for entertaining guests in the evening!

Along with the beautifully designed cosy charm this property offers, it has all the modern facilities including Sky Plus, WiFi, DVD with speakers outside on the terraces, and a fully equipped kitchen with an American style fridge.

Quinta Las Colinas sleeps 10 to 12 people with the accommodation consisting of 5 double bedrooms including a master suite with a double bathroom and secluded terrace and a tower room with a double sofa bed, ideal for teenagers.

There is a lovely full sized swimming pool on a lower level to the gardens that is perfect for a BBQ, pool party or cocktails as well of course as just lazing in the sunshine!

Quinta Las Colinas is perfect for a smaller intimate wedding party and can easily accommodate a wedding of up to 70 people in the beautiful gardens overlooking the lakes.

Beautiful Vintage Style Chairs for Weddings

When I design weddings I love the different styles we can apply according to the clients and the array of venues we work with.

Villa Padierna, here in Marbella, is famous for Michelle Obama visting and reminds me of a Vegas style Italian themed hotel, lots of marble, fountains and statues that we are forever covering up at weddings! and a very grand, elegant feel to the whole venue.

This weekend we worked very hard to create a beautiful wedding for Rebecca and John, a delightful and charming couple that we had the pleasure of designing their wedding for.

Rebecca, for me, was a challenge, she had a very elegant refined taste that took time for me to know exactly what she wanted and after a few meetings I finally narrowed her down to what she wanted to achieve for her day.

To sum it up it was to be a beautifully, elegant contemporary style wedding but with a vintage, spanish twist using lace and she wanted a huge amount of candle light :)

We kept the design to a stunning ivory and lace theme using lots of different height cylilnder glassware and ivory candles to create a mass in the centre of each table.

The venue was dressed with our fairy lights, candles on the steps, and lanterns surrounding the Linares terrace area.

The highlight for me with Rebecca and John´s wedding was our new gorgeous chair dressing with ivory covers, gorgeous vintage lace chair sashes finished off with some gorgeous hugely sparkly diamante vintage brooches :)

The final result looked stunning and we were thrilled.

We had to just share a chair with you but hopefully we will have all the photos to blog soon as this wedding was so stylish, elegant and beautiful :)

Gorgeous French Style Shabby Chic Wedding at the Hacienda San Jose

Wedding world has truly descended here in Marbella now we are into the lovely month of June and yesterday someone switched on the heat button! May was still slightly iffy but thankfully all our weddings came through unscathed and our beautiful French style shabby chic wedding was no exception and the storm held off until the early hours of the morning at 4am, long enough to everyone to have a fabulous day:)

Over the past month we have created some beautiful weddings and now we are receiving the photos we will be able to share these with you. We loved this wedding we created and designed with Sarah´s ideas to pull them all together. We were working away to create fans and parasols for the church in Marbella, the cocktail blackboard, to the gorgeous table centrepieces with those die for fluffy hydrangeas, beautifully simple yet stunning. The bridal flowers were a shabby chic ivory rose bouquet and the bridesmaids were the huge ivory fluffy peonies that smelt divine.

Anoulka created our fabulous flip flop sign for our basket and we are in love now with our new Mr & Mrs signs for the backs of Fiestasol´s new style chairs!

Cake Marbella provided yet more yummy cupcakes, without again making extra for us!! I will have words and apparently the garden was twinkling in the evening with all our lovely fairy lights, lanterns and candles, a truly magical wedding for a truly special couple and our warm congratulations to Sarah and Daragh.

Our thanks to Owen Farrell for sending us these delightful images of the day, without these we could not share our work with you.

Our thanks also to Heather at Fiestasol who yet again, as I practically live with them in the summer!, delighted the guests with Heather´s efficient planning and catering.

Weddings in Benahavis, Marbella

Reviva Weddings is currently expanding at a very fast pace this year, we are taking on more staff and currently branching out into different areas which is very interesting and are meeting many talented and devoted people that are really working hard on promoting the wedding industry here.
At Easter we are launching our Russian wedding and party planning which we hope will cater for the increasing amount of Russians living and visiting Marbella. If you would like more information about our Russian services, then please do contact us. There will be a Russian contact on our website shortly as well.

We meet many fabulous potential suppliers and companies and being a complete devotee to weddings I can spot another devotee miles away, I can also spot the fakes riding on the back of the industry as well!

To be in the wedding and event industry, you have to be completely committed.

I have seen people here throw their hands up and say this is not for me, they have no idea what they are in for until they enter what I call Wedding World, we live, eat, breath and sleep it. There is an A team here already based in Marbella but constantly we find new talents, fab people to work with and I have just found another partner in crime with Rachel.

Rachel is one of our brides that is getting married this year, in June, and has been rather resourceful, as well as having fab business brains and she lives in Benahavis. It is thanks to Rachel that we are now able to offer the Benahavis park for wedding ceremonies.

It is free of charge, currently, although I am sure when the local council get the jist of how many weddings we can organise there this will change :)! The park is fabulous, it has a lake, amphitheatre, which is where Rachel is getting married, and this rather cute ruin that they have also now offered for ceremonies, photos above. We love it and again these photos were taken by us, not professionals, on a sunny January day.

All we need to organise for ceremonies here is a minister to conduct your ceremony, chairs, perhaps a cocktail in the park, anything is possible but we cannot guarantee that you won't get an onlooker as it is a park. But to be honest cannot really see this as a potential problem, possibly the odd skateboarder:)!

Rachel has informed me today that she is in negotiation with a fabulous villa that sleeps 20 people just nearby so watch this space. We have also decorated a beautiful wedding in the Casa del Rio located nearby plus there is the Benahavis hotel and the Hotel Amanhavis as well, all very charming venues within walking distance.

If you would like to organise your wedding in this fabulous park please do contact us to find out more details.
