A Chic City Wedding in Seville, Spain

After what seems like months of hibernation we are all finally surfacing from Christmas and the arrival of 2016!

Well, actually, we have not been hibernating at all, our last wedding was November, then a gorgeously romantic secret proposal here in December and since then we have been busy planning and designing our up and coming weddings for 2016 and 2017.

We have some very special weddings booked again this coming year in one of our favourite cities in Spain and even a New Years Eve wedding this year to look forward to!

Looking back over 2015 we still have quite a few gorgeous weddings to post and are delighted to share one of our fabulous weddings from last September of the lovely Jennifer and David all the way from Dallas, Texas.

Jennifer and David were a small wedding party, flying in from the US, who really wanted to capture the essence of real Spain and create some beautiful memories for themselves and their guests.

Where better than the vibrant, passionate city of Seville for some serious fun, tapas nights and of course a beautiful wedding day.

Isabel worked hard with Jennifer creating a very unusual day for her and her guests, starting with a beautiful ceremony on the rooftop of the Alfonso XIII hotel right in the heart of the city overlooking the fabulous Cathedral de Santa Maria de la Sede.

Once the ceremony was over the guests were taken by horse and carriages for a little city tour and bought to one of the finest restaurants in Seville, the Abades Triana, overlooking the Guadalquivir River that runs through the city.

Jennifer and David's guests were treated to a fabulous cocktail reception and dinner in the cube as the sun set over the river and city.

It was a very romantic and magical setting.  We decorated the cube with some beautiful floral arrangements in reds, orange and yellow, gold sequin table runners and charger plates finished off with lots of gold tealights.  Truly sparkly!

Each guest place setting had some lovely Spanish favours of infused oils and vinegars from one of our amazing Spanish suppliers and Jennifer had ordered some really pretty menus in navy with gold polka dots.

After the dinner the guests were invited to embark on a boat to sail up the river where they were treated to a cake and dessert bar, dancing, an awesome flamenco show and of course the spectacular views from the river over the city.

Many beautiful memories were created this day in such a fabulous city, our congratulations to Jennifer and David and a big thank you to Jeremy Standley for sharing such fabulous images with us.

Rocking in Toledo

As far as weddings go this wedding was fabulously fun, we rocked the bustling city of Toledo as Debs and John bought their family and friends all the way from Australia to Spain to celebrate their wedding.

We loved our gorgeous bride and groom in sneakers and there were so many delicious treats for their guests who had travelled from far afield to join them on their fabulous Spanish adventure.

Debs contacted me last May to help her create her dream rock and roll style wedding here in Spain and wanted to host her special day in the Madrid or Toledo area as John's family are based there, so with the help of the super efficient Carmen we narrowed down the most enchanting venue, the Hacienda Del Cardenal, situated right in the heart of Toledo's historical city centre.

All our planning and styling was done on email and Facebook and Debs quickly became a friend as well so we chatted details, exchanged ideas, and narrowed down suppliers, mostly at night for me as Debs seemed to wake up just as I was going to bed!!

Eventually the big day arrived and a few days beforehand I drove up to Toledo loaded up with ribbons, glitter pom pom balls as confetti, wine crates, grapes and some fabulous props and signs and joined Carmen in Toledo to create the most fantastic wedding day for Debs and John.

I am not sure where to start from the details and treats for the wedding guests, from beautiful artisan chocolate and nuts lollipops bought from Madrid by Carmen to the olive bar, lemonade bar, mint choc chip cupcakes, gin cocktails, flamenco guitar and show, photo booth, the list of treats and goodies was endless and such fun!

We loved the tiny details such as the cartoon ring cushion, lego cake topper, wine themed table seating plan beautifully created by Carmen styled with barrels, wine crates and grapes incorporated into the table centrepieces with the table numbers and placecards set into corks.

It is a weekend I will always remember for being such fun and I am delighted to have shared such a special time with Debs and John as they celebrated their wedding here in our beautiful country.

As I type this blog post they are currently on their way back to Australia having spent the best part of three months here travelling around Spain and Europe, we wish Debs and John safe travels, a happy marriage and cannot wait to see their new home which they are moving into once they arrive back in Australia.

My thanks goes to Carmen, who worked with me to organise such a beautiful wedding, the venue for being so friendly, helpful and efficient, particularly the waiter who kept feeding me during my stay with some lovely canapes, to Miriam at Kiss and Chips for these fabulous photos we are able to share with you and all the other suppliers who were involved.
